Team Unemployment HQ
Fireworks all over town last night, think it’s something to do with this Xmas thing ;) Went out for a few drinks with Kel, festival was cancelled due to rain so had time to relax and recover from what has been a hectic week.

Went to a pool party last night at an incredible house in Buenos Aires, the Soul Freedom band played, missing a few members but still rocked.
The pool was amazing, i was in there most of the night.
It was an end of year party for the staff who work in the spa with Franco, Franco won “El Mas Sexy” which translates pretty simply ;)
Gig was at an Irish pub, went to another bar before which in honour of it’s anniversary was serving free beer and pizza.
Sound was really good, unfortunately the show was cut short by the owner… No real reason given.
Afterwards, we went to a party in beautiful flat overlooking the river and left for home just after the sun came up. Ate Kel’s disposable contact lenses on the way home in the cab, don’t know why but anyway.

Went on a little walkabout today after having lunch, sat in a park near to Recoletta until disturbed by Jamotsos, not bad, just annoying.
Walked to Puerta Madero where Franco works and had some dinner before heading off to band practice in a basement practice area somewhere in the city..
Had a few shandies (lol) and thoroughly enjoyed the practice.
There are now 5 gigs in 5 days, starting tomorrow!
And so I think I need to crash, Kel is lights out already, I am addicted to blogging so here i sit typing at 02:33am…

Went to the La Bosque Energetico (Energy Forest) in the afternoon, it’s a place where trees grow strangely close together and seem to lean towards a central point.
Then went to the beach and messed about in the dunes, did a bit of streaking and walked about 2km home, got myself a new boogie, Mike Stewart MS8, British Airways wouldn’t let me take my board on the plane! all good now, 1st new board in years :D
Got the midnight bus back to Buenos Aires, 84 pesos (£16) and arrived at Retiro around 6:30am.

Went surfing in the morning, intensive training for Kel, the chicken arms need some work!!
Kelly got herself a pink surfboard today, 6’0″, Kel is 5’2 and a quarter so it’s pretty cool for a first board.
Went surfing in central Miramar and took some water shots, Kel’s session was alright, not bad for 1st attempt… no blood :D
The Little Guy kept us entertained later on, chilling in the garden hax0ring the hotel next door for free internet access on a rocking chair with a kids boogieboard for a desk.
Went out for dinner in a place that serves beer in “un girafa” (a giraffe) which is a big tube (2 or 3 litre) with a draught tap, so no waiting at the bar or waiting for mongo waiter to satisfy your craving for Quilmes :)

Got to Miramar around 4pm, had a bit of sleep on the bus, I got around 2 hours, Kel slept most of the way, no surprises there ;)
Went for a swim, Kel and Franco were smarter, water was freezing, headache material.
Went and got some groceries at the supermarket then chilled and with Franco and his Grandmother in the house.
Soul Freedom band played at a dress up party sponsored by Quilmes on Saturday, 40 pesos to get in and free draught Quilmes all night!
Besides one or 2 very drunk scumbags hassling Kel, it was a very cool party, all good vibes. Gig was quite short and then 2 sides of a central stage played different types of music, electronic and Cumbia, which is traditional Argentine party music.
Got home after 8am, Kel and Franco slept for an hour, I knew if I closed my eyes it was over so stayed awake. At 9 we headed for Retiro to get a bus to Mirmar on the coast, Kel was not exactly thrilled to get up but I managed to get her going without too much kicking and screaming ;)

Hola amigos, we are in Miramar tonight, updating via hax0red wi-fi connection. The photos above are from getting ready, the sound check and getting back to the venue which was a drive-in cinema. More details and photos to follow shortly, but enjoy these for now.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words… So have 8053!
We’re going to this party tonight and leaving at 6am for Miramar to buy boards and surf, should be interesting… just wait till you see the costumes we are probably going to travel and arrive in Miramar wearing, bricks will be shat.

First night out, went to the reggae bar near to the river and met up with the other 8 members of Soul Freedom Band, Sound check was supposed to be around 9pm, but only happened close to 1am!
Very chilled place, it’s a parrilla, which is a traditional Argentine barbeque restaurant type of thing, we had some food and proceeded to get rather drunk and stoned in the beer garden.
The gig was cool, we had the best seats in the house, could touch the band members froom the side of the stage, through the window.
Got home around 4am or so, don’t really remember to be honest!
And tonight it all happens again, except in costumes at a drive-in. Should be EPIC!
We’re off to Miramar in the morning so will update when we are back next week.

Went downtown to Zona Once with Franco and bought a phone today, just in case I get drunk and lost or lose Kelly in a crowd.
Vodafone branded, clearly 2nd hand, complete with pictures of someone elses kids! Probably stolen in Europe somewhere but it works and only set me back 150 ARS, around 30 GBP.
Only seems to cost 4 centavos per message to the UK, which is less than 1 penny!
Gotta run now, going to a gig, Franco who we are staying with is the guiitarist in a Reggae band, SoulFreedomBand.
Got another gig tomorrow night, it’s a costume party, thinking of going fully tranny, i honestly don’t give a fuck and know almost no one here… and i’m clearly gay at heart!
